How we write about private and sensitive questions
HerSensi is designed for questions people may feel embarrassed to ask. We use anatomically accurate language without making normal bodies sound dirty, shameful or abnormal.
For teens
Teen content is age-appropriate, factual and practical. It avoids unnecessary sexual detail, encourages involving a trusted adult or healthcare professional when appropriate, and does not use fear to sell products.
Intimate hygiene
We distinguish the vulva from the vagina, do not imply that normal discharge or normal body scent is “unclean,” and do not promote internal cleansing as routine hygiene.
Sexual wellbeing
Where sexual-health topics are relevant, guidance is consent-aware, non-judgmental and evidence-based. Symptoms such as sores, abnormal bleeding, unusual discharge or pain are routed to appropriate care rather than disguised as beauty concerns.
Images and language
We avoid sensational or sexualised imagery for medical/private topics. Illustrations should exist because they improve understanding, not because an intimate topic can attract clicks.
